Athletes were CRUSHING "Jackie" last night during their prelims for the "Jackie Who?" PR competition. Great job guys, can't wait to see what the rest of you do!
One movement that will be performed today is the toes-to-bar - T2B for short. Tips for a better, smoother toes to bar movement:
1) Loosen up those hips! Hip flexion is a huge part of the T2B, so prepare your daily extra mobility session accordingly. (Because I know you all put time aside in your day for mobility. Right?!)
2) Work on grip strength. The T2B is similar to a V-up, or other exercises that revolve around your core, but the bar element of the movement adds that need for grip strength.
3) DANCE. Well maybe not exactly, but RHYTHM is actually a huge part of the movement. Being able to string together kipping T2B is sometimes more difficult than the movement on its own.
It's time for THROWBACK THURSDAY.
I know there's a stray cat problem in this neighborhood, but this is a little crazy!
Overhead Squat (115/85)
Don't forget your homework! (If you don't know what I'm talking about, check yesterday's post!)
