7 December 2015

There is a new eatery in our area that I'm so excited to tell you about! It's Grok's RX Kitchen. It's part of a new restaurant, Grubbi Groks BBQ in Dryden. It's actually located in the old Jalepeno's, our former member Rudy's Mexican joint, before they sold and moved south.

Grok's RX Kitchen provides paleo and gluten free meals that strive to provide the ideal macro-nutrient breakdown that our bodies need- 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat. Here's how it works, it's a little unlike anything I've ever done before.

1. You look at their menu for the upcoming week. The new menu will be out around Thursday of this week. They release it on facebook but if you sign up for their emails, you'll get it in your inbox.

2. You email them and tell them if you want meals by the Saturday before.

3. On Monday you pick up 2 meals and on Wednesday you pick up 2 meals if you got the 4 meal option. There is a six meal option, but you'd have to go pick them up again Saturday.

4. You eat them, because they are delicious. And healthy.

Here is a pic of a meal I had of theirs last week. It re-heated wonderfully. It was sweet potato-bacon pancakes (entirely gluten free) and roasted turnips and greens with dressing.

Don't want to drive to Dryden twice a week? Get a friend to order also and take turns driving. I'll tell you what, knowing I have these meals coming this week means my Sunday food prep has been cut down from a 4 hour ordeal to just 2. That meant I had more time to relax and do other things to get ready for the week.

We're also considering hosting a Cortland pickup location at the gym, if there's enough interest. This means that they would deliver meals to us and then you just have to come to us to pick it up.
