First things first...Congratulations Kerri for getting athlete of the month! You deserve it! Prouda you.
Also, check out our newest product being sold in the lobby. FitAID is a "Paleo friendly" recovery drink used by CrossFit athletes everywhere. It's packed with necessary nutrients, but free from artificial ingredients and chemicals that you see in other energy or sports drinks. And it's absolutely delicious!
Now I know I talk about Camille a lot, but how can I not? She's the Fittest Woman on Earth for cryin out loud! Watch this video, and then we'll talk a little bit about motivation.
Isn't she great? Anyway, she brings up some great points in this video. First, she points out that she doesn't wake up everyday necessarily excited and ready to go. Sometimes she doesn't feel like training, but she does anyway. This is a skill that not many people have, but is important to develop. Have goals in your mind and work towards them everyday, no matter what. If you force yourself to take the steps necessary for improvement (this includes forcing yourself to take rest days for recovery!) it eventually becomes habit, and a very good one at that.
This applies to all of you, even if you don't have any plans for competing. Self-improvement is the greatest and most common goal of them all. Another thing she mentions is that you should never play the "victim". If you don't like something in your life, don't waste time feeling sorry for yourself, take steps towards changing it! This goes for personal, professional and fitness goals alike. Whether you CrossFit for competition, stress relief, health management, or just to spend time with others, you all have your reasons for being here.
Think about it; it's hard to be here at the box working your @$$ off and feel sorry for yourself at the same time.
