Back to basics.

Today during class we will be taking some time to go over kipping pull ups. Plenty of you are pretty darn close to stringing your pull ups together so make sure you don't miss out! Even if you are an experienced CrossFitter, you can always benefit from going back to the basics. It all starts with proper positioning. The hollow body and superman positions are the main ingredients in the recipe for the perfect kipping pullup. If you are interested in checking out the fundamentals of the hollow body position, then watch this quick video!

Even if you aren't interested in becoming a better kipper you should watch these videos anyways. Why? Because Carl is man-pretty thats why! If you ask Dana about the time she met him I bet she would be more than happy to tell you about it...

Here is another great video simply about kipping. It gives you an idea of what should be going through your head as you initiate your kip. Start small with the feet, open it up a little bit with the hips then get really big with the shoulders. Baby steps.

I chose these videos because they are short, simple and to the point. If you have 5 spare minutes today then try to give them a look. The hollow body is a great exercise that you can do in your living room. Try out a hollow body rock for a Tabata style workout. The link is for the CrossFit main site FAQ section. There is a lot of great stuff in there, dive in!
