Great job this week everyone! Keep it up!  Just a few more days to get in here and rock out the LAST Dog Days of Summer Challenge! The challenge this week is a 1RM dead lift.  There IS going to be one male and one female winner, and so far there are only 2 males sign up! Come on guys, get to it!

 

Yesterday we touched upon the importance of rest.  Today I'm going to go one step further and talk about the importance of SLEEP.  We all know how great a good night's sleep feels, and how crappy we feel without one.  This is because lack of sleep messes with your cortisol levels which regulate immune response, blood pressure levels, connective tissue strength, and insulin sensitivity, among other things.  A LOT goes on when you're asleep; a lot of important processes that ONLY happen when you sleep.  So, "Sleep, ya big dummy!" -Robb Wolf, The Paleo Solution

 

Quick tip: If you have trouble falling asleep at night, even when tired, try turning off the screens earlier.  What I mean by this is try to avoid TV right before bed, or staring at a computer or phone screen too close to bed time.  The light from the screens alters your melatonin; the hormone that regulates your sleeping and waking cycle.

40 wall balls (20/14)
