You feeling chipper today? Well, we are!

Thats  right, today we have a bit of a chipper for you here at 7VCF and it is a great one! I love chippers like this one, there are high reps, simple movements and it gives you a chance to give yourself a bit of a gut check. Don't get me wrong, I love lifting heavy shit, I love sprint style WODs like Fran but there is something about a chipper that I just get pumped about. I couldn't tell you what it is though. Maybe it is because I am not really stressed about my time or where I sit on the leaderboard, maybe it is because the movements aren't as complex but honestly.... I love going zombie mode during a workout and that feeling of accomplishment when I complete it. There isn't much else like it.

When you look at this one it might seem mild compared to WODs that we have doing in the past but DO NOT underestimate it. We will be doing 350 reps total today and you will have to earn every one of them. Especially if you want to write RX next to your name. Even if you aren't using bands for push ups you still need to hit the movement standards every single time. That is where things get dicey, don't allow yourself to settle for sub par standards just because you are a bit winded.

Lastly, if you are a big fan of strategy like I am then I suggest that you have a game plan in mind. Imagine yourself performing this WOD and see if you can picture a feasible rep scheme. I like mix it up between working hard for a short amount of time and resting for a short amount of time orrrrrrr working at a slow, steady pace. You know your body, pace your workout appropriately. Good luck!

Here is todays "pyramid style" workout:

For time-STRICT 25 min time cap

50 air squats

50 sit ups

50 push ups

50 pull ups

50 push ups

50 sit ups

50 air squats

Gah why do I have to be out of town for this one! I LOVE chippers! There are a lot of times I walk into the box with a lot of stress and anxiety on my shoulders, but I've noticed that after a good chipper (or any WOD really) I walk out feeling much lighter, happier, and more appreciated than I did walking in. Chippers=hard won happiness.
