Happy Friday!! To end our "mental toughness" week, we'll keep it short and simple.
Here's the biggest secret: If you want to do well, you have to have FUN.
If the workouts start to feel like a chore, than you won't do as well as you'd like. If this starts to happen, remind yourself of your favorite parts of the sport; why you enjoy coming to the box each day. Try to think of learning new movements as "playing" and never be afraid of failing. Enjoy the moments when you're embarrassing yourself trying something totally new and learn to laugh it off. CrossFit should be increasing your happiness each day and the box should be a place to unwind and have fun!
Trust me, I can talk FOREVER about the mental aspects of sport. But, for your sake, we'll end this topic today (for the time being). I'm always open to talking about it though if you have any questions! To recap the week,
1. Think positive.
2. Take responsibility for yourself; no excuses.
3. Push past your comfort zone. Your mind can always convince your body to keep going.
4. Have FUN.
I know that Friday is "Funny video day", and don't worry I'll still post a funny one, but first I want to post this video that goes along with the "playing" thing I was just talking about.
1, 2, 3....10
Push press (135/95)
15 double unders between each set
"A lot of people say they love running because of how they feel afterward. Not me. Well, I love that, too, but it's also so much fun while I'm out there." (You can easily interchange running and CrossFit here!)
