#Repost @comptrain.co with @get_repost ・・・ 🤳🏼 @bcurley3: Sometimes people ask me about the differences between younger athletes and Masters athletes. In my experience—once a certain level of work capacity has been achieved—truthfully, not much. I think we all feel more or less the same out there on the floor. - But there are two big differences—one is physical, one is mental. The physical? Simply put, warmup and recovery. I have to warm up longer and I must pay close attention to rest and recovery. - The mental difference is a little more fun to think about. If I had to use one word to describe it, it would be PERSPECTIVE. - For most of the athletes with whom I train, who are in their 20s or 30s, it is pretty much a given that their best days lie ahead of them. They have the advantage of time and energy on their side. But the sad reality is that most people MY age (not CrossFit athletes, I mean the general population) truly believe their best days are behind them. - But when you are an older athlete, a CrossFit Masters athlete, and you walk into a gym and pick up a barbell, and do something with it that you have never done before in your entire life... well, you know your best days are still ahead of you. Perspective. _ #CompTrainMasters #CompTrain #Earned 📷: @sheadoyle
