WHY FOOD PREP?
Some people think it’s silly, but here are 3 reasons why I do it, weekly. I know I blog about this a lot, but that’s because I really do believe nutrition is the FOUNDATION of what we do and how we live. And being in the fitness industry, I see that the majority of our population’s health issues are from lack of education on how to do nutrition properly. I’m not preaching that what I do is the right way to do it. But, it does save me time, money, and a whole lot of energy.

FOOD PREP SAVES TIME:
1. Let’s use a big healthy salad as an example. One of the things I hate about cooking is washing, peeling, slicing, and chopping vegetables. I wish everything would just magically be done for me. So, I certainly don’t want to have to do it every day. Imagine the time it takes to get the veggies out, wash them, peel them, cut them and then put everything away again. So, on Sunday, I only have to do all of that ONCE if I prep 3 salads at once. Extra time not preparing veggies = more time to wod, or mobilize, or watch silly cat videos.

FOOD PREP SAVES MONEY:
2. Do you ever get to the end of the week and you’ve got a fridge full of wilty veggies and rancid meat that you never used? No? Well, good on you. But, I know that if I don’t use something right away, I’ll lose my ambition to prepare it and it goes bad and I have to throw it away. I might be guilty of letting the expensive grass fed beef sit in the fridge for too long on an occasion or two. I hate wasting that $8.99/lb!

FOOD PREP SAVES ENERGY:
3. Your weeks are busy, I know. Your week nights are hectic: extra work, wods, kids, spouses, lawn mowing, baseball games, pinteresting. Wouldn’t you like to just be able to come home from it all and relax for a little while before starting it all over again the next day? Try prepping food on Sunday when life is not so hectic so that your meals for dinner and lunch are ready. That way, you can come home from work and not worry about standing around in the kitchen for hours making dinner and lunch.
If you’ve got questions about weekly food prep or need some tips on how to get started, post below. Now here’s one of my favorite videos that show the masters of food prep in action!

but food prepping is great. It's insane how much calmer I am during a week that I'm able to food prep for.
