Farewell Payal!

For those of you that have not met Payal Patel, you are really missing out. Unfortunately for us here at 7VCF today is her last day. Lets save the waterworks for a minute and talk about just how awesome she is. She completed her first WOD with us on February 28th of 2014. This was actually the day that the Open workout 14.1 came out! For those of you that don't remember, this was a brutal 10 minute couplet of 30 Double Unders and 15 Power Snatches. Since that day she has been to a whopping 290 classes here with us! 290! I will be the first person to say that Payal is absolutely NOT the same person that she was when she walked through the door that day. She has changed. She has become better. Better at what? Everything. Thats what.

She looked different, she carried herself differently, she was even a little shy at first (remember the good old days?! ;) I'm kidding) But seriously though. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her back then has seen the amazing transformation that she has undergone. She is now a seasoned CrossFit veteran and is a little nervous and excited to start up at her new box once she moves away from us. If you happen to see her today just tell her to stay confident, keep smiling that great smile and that she will be just fine when she joins up somewhere else. She has become a barbell wizard during her time with us. She always takes great time and care with the Snatch, the Clean and the Jerk. Payal, you should be proud of your dedication to these movements. Even after she hits an amazing lift, she thanks the people that congratulate her, and then she would always come up to me and ask, "how did it look?" or, "what could I have done better?" That is what is great about Payal. She is proud of her accomplishments but she also knows that there is always more work to be done.

Ok, i guess its time to cue the waterworks now. I may or may not be a little misty eyed right now (you can ask Maria). Thank you for all of the memories Payal. We will miss you!

Now, back to business. Today we will be throwing a couple of intense barbell movements at you so make sure that you are paying attention during the skill session. Without any further ado, I present to you all....todays WOD!

5 Thrusters (115/75)

5 Sumo Deadlift High Pulls (115/75)
