5 tips to get yourself to the gym.

1. Make it part of your schedule! It can’t be an afterthought or an “extra” to try to fit it in. Think you just don’t have time? Here’s a task for you. Spend one day tallying all the minutes you spend lingering around on social media: scrolling through Instagram, facebook stalking your ex, tweeting about the sunset or swiping faces on tinder. (Does anyone ever tweet anymore?) I bet you could come up with an hour per day, at least

2. $$$- It’s easy to pass up going to the gym if you pay $5/month on “generic fitness center”. Think about the cost of CrossFit. Worth it, of course, access to coaches, peers, instruction, feedback, community, support, off the floor coaching, nutrition guidance, self-confidence, etc.”. But still, even though it’s worth it, it is still is a monthly expense. Are you really going to waste that?

3. Reward yourself- this is a tactic I like to use with my second graders. If they complete their homework every night of the week, they get a special reward on Fridays. Well, the same thing works with adults too, believe it or not, because afterall, we’re all just big kids. Get to the box 3x this coming week and treat yourself to a dinner out with friends or get yourself a new jumprope!

4. It’s time to bring sexy back! Yea, I know, JT already did it. But it is nearly summer. And we don’t get very many days during the year here in upstate NY to show off our sexy. So what are you waiting for?

5. Make a plan with a friend and don’t let them down! If there’s a certain day of the week that’s particularly hard to make it in to workout, get a friend to commit to going too. For me, Sundays are tough. I just want to sleep in, drink coffee on the porch and watch some Netflix all day. But, Sunday is NOT a rest day for me. The only way I make it in is because I know my good friend, Jody, will be waiting for me at the door at 8am.
